::Question for Moms & Photographers::

Well, my throat is starting to hurt. I hope it's just a fluke. I've never had the flu and don't want it, not to mention I've been taking care of the baby and really don't want her to get it. Jon's feeling 95% better today, he's doing a half day of work. I tried to persuade him to just stay home, but he said he had to go.

Anyway, what photo book companies have you used and do you like? So far, I've only used MpixPro. Who have you used and like? Blurb, My Publisher, MixBooks, others, etc..

And for all of you moms, what do you do with your child, around a year old, during the day when it's to hot to go outside? I'm needing some ideas on what to do with Alexis, besides sit at home. In the mornings, after I drop Jon at work - we have one car, I usually take her to the park on some days and swing her for a half hour or I've been going to the beach for an hour in the mornings. At the mall, they have a little place kids can play. I've taken her their twice, but all the kids are running around and I'm afraid one of them won't see her {most of the kids running around are not supposed to be there, considering the height rule, but they are} and it seems just dirty. I'd love to hear your suggestions!

This week I've had time to pull out my camera, with Jon sick and all, so I'm joining in the edit me challenge at My Reflection of Something Photography.

Here's my edit-

First, I cropped and then lightened it slightly. Then ran PW action vintage at 45%. Used the masked tool and brushed over her at 50%. Then ran the seventies action at 30%. Resized and sharpened for the web.

Here's the original-

3 Wonderful Comments:

  1. I've only used BLURB and loved it. It has a coffee table feel to it and I just love it. I made wedding albums for my family with it. For the price point, it's great quality. Sure I love my wedding album that my photographer gave us but it just depends on what you're trying to accomplish, ya know?

  2. The crop is very nice, and the light is just perfect!
